A modular Hebrew lettering system emerging from African visual culture.
Extracted from pattern rather than designed, the forms retain a raw and ritualistic quality. Developed for the title sequence of Homecoming.
[01] The Idea
This lettering system was created for a title sequence based on Homegoing, a story rooted in African history and identity.
The goal was to design a typographic voice that feels native to the culture- not decorative, but embedded in it.
[02] INSPIRATION
The system draws from Ghanaian visual culture, including Adinkra symbols and traditional patterns.
originates from a specific pattern, which later became the foundation for the entire lettering system.

Forms were extracted, simplified, and refined into letters- preserving the original visual language.
